The CA Foundation course is the entry-level examination for the Chartered Accountancy certification offered by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). It is designed to provide a strong foundation in accounting, economics, and business law, equipping students with the fundamental knowledge required for a career in chartered accountancy.

CA  Foundation Course Duration

The CA foundation course has a duration of approximately 4 months

Course Structure
  • Register with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and complete 4 months of theoretical education for the foundation course.
  • Apply to appear in the foundation examination by filling up the prescribed exam form released by the examination Section/Department.
  •  Appear in ICAI’s CA Foundation Examination after appearing in Class XII Examination.
  •  Qualify Foundation Examination

About the course

The CA Intermediate course is the second level of the Chartered Accountancy certification offered by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). It is designed to deepen the knowledge and skills acquired at the Foundation level and prepare students for professional practice.

CA Intermediate  Course Duration

The CA Intermediate level course has a duration of approximately 8 months.

Course Structure
  • Register with ICAI after passing Class XII and the foundation examination.
  • Complete 8 months of theoretical education.
  • Apply and pass both groups of the intermediate examination.
  • Complete the ICITSS before practical training.
  • Register for 2 years of practical training after clearing the intermediate examination and ICITSS.

About the course

The CA Final Course follows a structured progression through three stages: Foundation, Intermediate, and Final, each building upon the previous level. At the Foundation stage, students gain fundamental knowledge and begin applying concepts. In the Intermediate stage, they refine comprehension, analyse data, and apply their learning in complex scenarios. The Final stage focuses on advanced evaluation and synthesis, where students demonstrate mastery through in-depth analysis, application, and decision-making. This structured approach ensures that CAs are well-equipped with the technical expertise and analytical skills required for professional success.

CA Final Course Duration

The CMA Final course has a duration of approximately 6 months.

Course Structure
  • Register for the final course with ICAI after clearing both groups of the intermediate examination.
  • Complete practical training and qualify for the four self-paced online modules with an online assessment.
  • Qualify for advanced ICITSS after practical training but before appearing in the final examination.
  • Appear and pass the final examination after completing six months from the end of practical training.
  • Become a Chartered Accountant (CA) and register as a member with ICAI.
