IPMAT 2025 Tips and Strategies for Exam Preparation

Introduction

The Integrated Programme in Management Aptitude Test (IPMAT) is a national entrance exam conducted by Indian Institute of Management, Indore for admission into the five-year integrated management program (IPM) that includes three years of undergraduate and two years of post graduation.  

This curriculum was formerly only available at IIM Indore, but as of 2023, a large number of other universities, including Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, NALSAR University, Alliance University, Indian Institute of Ranchi, and the Department of Management Studies, have begun to accept IPMAT scores for admission to their Integrated curriculum in Management (IPM).

IPMAT Exam Date (2025)

The tentative exam date for IPMAT is in the 3rd week of May 2025.

  • Application process starts by the second week of February and ends by the second week of April.
  • Admit card is released by the first week of May.
  • Announcement for Personal Interviews by first week of June.
  • Admit card release for PI by first week of July.
  • Online Personal Interview by second week of July.
  • Selection list release by last week of July.

 

Effective Tips and Strategies for IPMAT Exam Preparation

Like any aptitude exam, IPMAT preparation involves both smart and hard work. It should be systematic and cover all the aspects of preparation.

  1. Start with you fundamentals
    IPMAT is more about your understanding of the concepts. Therefore, begin by learning the fundamentals of every topic.
    This would help you build a strong foundation.

    Create a study schedule that works for you and maximizes your learning. This would help you study more effectively and manage your time better.

  3. Try as many mock tests as possible
    The best strategy to ace any aptitude test, according to teachers and mentors, is to take mock exams. Practicing old question papers and mock tests would help you understand the exam pattern better and also increases your accuracy.

  4. Analyse and work on weak areas
    Figure out what topics or types of questions you find hard and try to get help from your teachers and mentors to improve in these areas. This would help you in increasing your efficiency.

  5. Practice regularly
    Regular practice makes you more aware of the issues and topics. As a result, this would help you improve and recover more quickly.

  6. Practice time management
    Aptitude tests are more about how you manage your time during the exam. Therefore, learn how to manage your time better while giving your mocks so that you don’t leave any question unattempted.
